Sweet Details // From My Own Wedding + Honeymoon

As promised, here are some more photos from my wedding and honeymoon, which took place on May 11, 2012.

The bracelet was given to me by my mother, purchased at The Sixth Floor Museum in Dallas, TX. It is a replica of a bracelet owned and worn by Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. The napkin with the writing on it is a song my husband, Thom wrote one afternoon at a restaurant. The song just came to him all at once, music and lyrics. It is the first song anyone has ever written for me! It is called “Johnny and June” and will be featured on Thom’s new CD, recording now in Fort Worth at Eagle Audio, produced by the legendary Guthrie Kennard. This napkin will be framed as a family treasure.

Another shot of my bracelet and the vintage silk stockings I wore on our wedding day.

My wonderful shoes from BHLDN by Chie Mihara. An ornament I purchased at the gift shop at the Alamo in San Antonio on our honeymoon. I have decided to make a tradition of buying a Christmas ornament on every vacation we take as a married couple. This idea was inspired by my best friend’s mother, Cathy Johnson. I basically grew up at the Johnson home and therefore love ladybugs, Victorian houses, and Christmas trees. Each Christmas Cathy puts up many themed trees and gives tours…it’s just beautiful and fun.

My wedding ring inside an orchid. I love flowers! And little statues of George and Mary Bailey (From the classic film, “It’s a Wonderful Life), also given to me by my mother. Thom once said to me that he had to marry me because I was the only girl he knew who was as sweet as Donna Reed. So nice!

A close-up of some details on the dress I said my vows in. And then I hung it from the front entryway chandelier, because…well, why not?! The stairs to the right are the same ones I walked down to meet my husband at the altar. Our wedding was performed by our dear friend, reverend, and fellow musician, Cadillac Johnson.
